The 2025 Safer Crowds, Safer Venues Conference, hosted by the United Kingdom Crowd Management Association (UKCMA), took place on March 18–19 at Middlesbrough Town Hall. This second annual gathering brought together professionals from across the crowd management, events, and public safety sectors to explore best practices, emerging challenges, and collaborative solutions for safer public spaces.​

Keynote speakers included B.J. Harrington QPM, Chief Constable of Essex Police, who discussed the evolving role of technology and data in policing public spaces; Michelle Russell, Chief Executive of the Security Industry Authority, who addressed regulatory advancements; and Philip Kolvin KC, a leading licensing barrister, who shared insights on safety, security, and service in event management. ​
